How to use this toolkit
This interactive toolkit allows you to compare the UK's cancer outcomes with those from other European countries by analysing the incidence, mortality, survival, spending on cancer and medicines uptake for different cancer types.
Each cancer-specific page can be accessed by clicking on the buttons at the top of each page.
Within each cancer page you can select the data you would like to see by clicking the relevant button at the top of the page (e.g. cancer cases, cancer deaths, etc.).
To switch between data sets within the same graph, please click on the relevant label or button, found underneath the graph.
The graphs and the corresponding datasets can be downloaded by clicking on the links below each graph.
Below each graph, there are two buttons 鈥淓U28鈥 and 鈥淓U5鈥. EU28 graphs showcase data from the 28 member states of the European Union before Brexit and three of the countries that belong to the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland), that were assessed by IHE. EU5 graphs showcase data from the 'Big 5' European countries: UK, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
In the accompanying description for each graph, the numbers were rounded down for decimal values between 0.1 鈥 0.4 and rounded up for decimal values between 0.5 鈥 0.9.
